Senior Back End Engineer
£70k Full-time | Permanent | Reporting to VP of Engineering
Collectiv Food is looking for an experienced and talented Back End engineer to join an exciting, fast-paced team. This is a brand-new position due to the ongoing growth of the software engineering team.

Located in vibrant Notting Hill, West London, you will join a growing, collaborative team that encourages innovation and contribution from everyone.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team you will be using the latest technology to produce scalable services, helping to solve complex problems that will have a real impact on the success of businesses across the foodservice industry.
You will benefit from flexible hours and optional remote working. While the position will be remote working only to begin with, as social restrictions ease, some office work will be required to interact with the broader team, so you should be London-based or able to travel as necessary.
Responsibilities
You will be working within an Agile software development team with some of the latest tech including ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Elasticsearch and SNS, creating services that power our revolutionary web and native mobile applications.
Crafting reusable code to implement new features and support live products
Ensure unit and automated test coverage is achieved
Optimisation of applications for speed and scalability
Agile/Scrum development, including:
Design reviews and code reviews
Active involvement in refinement and planning sessions
Working well in a team context adapting to and influencing team practices
Contributing to wider business goals, ensuring the availability, security, and scalability of its platforms
Skills & requirements
Proven track record building online services and APIs
Expertise with C#, .NET Core
Familiar with terms such as SOLID, TDD, YAGNI and KISS
Experienced with SQL and NoSQL database development, particularly DynamoDB, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch
Confident in your understanding of Event Driven architecture and CQRS
Knowledgeable in AWS (or similar cloud technologies)
Comfortable following best practices (CI, Docker Containerization, Automated testing)
Nice to have experience
Node.js and Express
Caching technologies such as Varnish and Fastly
Secure authorisation e.g. OAuth, use of JWT etc.
Additional coding languages like Swift, R, Rust -- with your skills who knows what we could build next
